Kristina is a dancer and choreographer based in Sydney Australia. Through choreography and dance Kristina makes performance work that explores notions of impermanence, fragility and mortality in nature, humanity and our environment. Kristina premiered her first major work A Faint Existence produced by Force Majeure, for Performance Space’s 2016 Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art at Carrigeworks Sydney. A Faint Existence delves into our microcosmic existence on a macrocosmic scale and how our existence on mass has had enormous impact as a geophysical force. Kristina choreographed Conform for Sydney Dance Company (SDC) premiering in Ludwigshafen Germany and Carriageworks Sydney in 2015 and in 2016 Pacific for SDC Pre-Professional Year. She collaborated with film maker Neil Mansfield on gallery installation work Grave for the Lockup Gallery Newcastle with support from Catapult. She has made works for QL2 Dance Inc, NAISDA dance college and Adelaide College of the Arts and short solo works for Expressions Dance Company and iOU Dance a choreographic platform for NSW independent choreographers. In 2017 Kristina is developing new work Mountain commissioned by Campbelltown Arts Centre. Kristina has over 18 years of performance experience performing throughout Australia, Canada, UK, USA, Asia, Israel and Europe working with companies, independent choreographers and collaborators; Force Majeure, Kate Champion, Australian Dance Theatre, Garry Stewart, Chunky Move, Australian Ballet, Gideon Obarzanek, Lucy Guerin Inc, Stephanie Lake, Lisa Wilson, Sydney Theatre Company, Legs On The Wall, Narelle Benjamin, Anton, Tanja Liedtke, Victoria Chiu, Victoria Hunt and Martin del Amo. Kristina has been awarded a Helpmann Award for her performance in Narelle Benjamin’s In Glass (2011) and two Australian Dance Awards for Tanja Liedtke’sTwelfth Floor (2006) and construct (2009).
